It explores the space of desire and introspection. The call is clear, defined and unchanged. The central motive is to research the dialectics of male-female relationships. The portrait is placed in the center – this is the place from which the composition springs and into which it dives. The portrait hides the intention of playing with a figure: a body that is set up as a line or as a landscape. Still, the composition remains in the domain of a minimalist approach, with a strong contrast between the drawing line and the background connection, the occasional addition of decorative elements. Its importance came to light recently with the decision to convert it into a mosque. This acrylic painting depicts the exterior of the Hagia Sophia (“Holy Wisdom”, Sancta Sophia, Ayasofya) with the sea walls of Constantinople. It seems that Justinian’s dream of the Eastern Roman Empire’s sea power was imprinted here. Beauty and music lie in the depths; her irresistible dance draws with incalculable strength, a tireless spirit of freedom. In its innumerable moods, the sea whispers, singing, shrubs “the deepest note of the planet’s refrain”. If there is something magical on this planet then it is in the clear openness of the water. We could search for a heart that would be like the sea, always open and free, joyfully as the freedom of the soul. Joy is the vital state of our soul. When we get rid of the border, it sings the anthem to life. A joyful clap that is heard up to the top of the sky and does not bring joy to the bottom of the ocean.
